Nottingham Beer Festival reveal latest plans as original dates deemed 'not possible'

It attracts thousands of thirsty punters every year but Nottingham will have to wait a little longer to wet its whistle at the Robin Hood Beer & Cider Festival as the popular is pushed back six weeks.

The popular four-day booze-up at the Motorpoint Arena was due to take place October 7-10 but organisers have deemed these dates "not possible" with current lockdown restrictions in place.

Working with the venue group is now aiming to hold the festival during November, with Wednesday 18 to Saturday 21 currently pencilled in.

Changes will also be made to the operation of the festival to make it a Covid-19 safe environment, organisers told Nottinghamshire Live.

It is anticipated tickets will go on sale in October.

The Robin Hood Beer & Cider Festival had been held at Nottingham Castle for a decade before it moved to the Motorpoint Arena in 2017 while the historic city landmark undergoes multi-million pound restoration works.

Nottingham CAMRA chairman Steve Westby said: "We are determined to make every effort to hold the popular annual Nottingham Beer & Cider festival this year as a celebration of coming through a long stressful period for brewers, pubs and customers alike."
