Nottingham areas see large drop in new coronavirus cases in last 24 hours

A further 302 people have tested positive for coronavirus across Nottinghamshire during the last 24 hours, latest figures show on Sunday (February 7).

The official Government data shows the number of new cases recorded in each part of the county.

The figures represent a large fall from the 511 new cases recorded on Saturday, February 6.

The largest daily increase was recorded in the city of Nottingham, of 126 cases.

Elsewhere across the county, the biggest daily rise was in Ashfield.

Here is the latest area-by-area breakdown as of February 6:

Ashfield - 8,158 (increase of 59)

Bassetlaw - 6,804 (Increase of 32)

Broxtowe - 6,151 (Increase of 39)

Gedling - 7,008 (Increase of 36)

Mansfield - 6,832 (Increase of 43)

Newark and Sherwood - 5,981 (Increase of 39)

Nottingham - 27,179 (Increase of 126)

Rushcliffe - 5,955 (Increase of 28)

The Government said that, as of 9am on Sunday, there had been a further 15,845 lab-confirmed cases of coronavirus in the UK.

It brings the total number of cases in the UK to 3,945,680.

Government data up to February 6 shows of the 12,525,735 jabs given in the UK so far, 12,014,288 were first doses – a rise of 549,078 on the previous day’s figures.

Some 511,447 were second doses, an increase of 1,390 on figures released the previous day.

The seven-day rolling average of first doses given in the UK is now 433,8571.
