Notthingham Forest v Coventry City: Team news latest as we predict the line-up

Chris Hughton saw his unbeaten start as Nottingham Forest manager end with a 1-0 defeat to Middlesbrough on Saturday.

With the Reds now 21st in the Championship there is a real need to beat Coventy City and Wycombe Wanderers at home heading into the international break.

Here, we take a look at how Forest could line up against Coventry at the City Ground on Wednesday night, ahead of the visit of Wycombe on Saturday.

What formation will they use?

After 4-4-2 failed to work in the first half against Derby County, the Reds switched back to a 4-2-3-1 formation favoured by Sabri Lamouchi.

It is possible Hughton could give two upfront another go, but every indication is that they will persist with the formation used at Boro, meaning two more defensively minded midfielders and a number 10 in support of the lone striker.

Who starts?

Brice Samba will be in goal as ever so long as he is fit, with what is starting to look a potential longer term back four in front of him - with one exception.

While Scott McKenna and Tobias Figueiredo have formed a decent central defensive partnership and Cyrus Christie is the first choice right-back, there is still the question of who plays at left-back.

With Nicholas Ioannou serving a three game ban, Gaetan Bong got the nod at the weekend and did okay.

Yuri Ribeiro travelled to Middlesbrough but Hughton said he had just come back from an ankle injury.

Hughton yesterday confirmed Ribeiro is in Forest's 25-man official squad for Championship games. Could he get another chance after a rather harsh looking exile since the end of last season, bar two appearances this term.

Ryan Yates looks set to continue in midfield unless rested. Harry Arter is fit again after overcoming an ankle injury and could line-up alongside Yates in place of Jack Colback. Could Samba Sow get his chance?

Joe Lolley will hope for a recall as a number 10 or on the right wing and Lyle Taylor will also be looking to start again after Miguel Guerrero played against Boro.

Lewis Grabban missed the last two games with a hip problem and will not be fit until after the international break at the earliest, meaning he will sit out the Coventry and Wycombe games.

Predicted XI: Samba; Christie, Figueiredo, McKenna, Bong; Yates, Arter; Knockaert, Lolley, Ameobi; Taylor
