Notre Dame TE Cole Kmet declares for 2020 NFL draft

One of the top tight end prospects in the country is making the early jump to the pro football ranks.

Notre Dame’s Cole Kmet is leaving school early to enter the 2020 NFL draft. Kmet made his announcement via social media Thursday.

Back in November, Kmet was planning to return for his senior season. Instead, he’ll be entering this year’s draft class as potentially the top prospect at his position, with a chance to be selected in the first round.

A big, physical pass-catcher with impressive athleticism for his size, Kmet could be the first tight end off the board come draft weekend.
