Notre Dame receiver Will Fuller says he'll return next season

Nov. 12--Will Fuller turned yes-or-no questions into "no" and "yes, yes" answers Wednesday.

Asked whether Saturday's game against Wake Forest would be his last at Notre Dame Stadium, the junior receiver responded with a "no" and added he wants to earn his degree.

"That's what I came here for," Fuller said.

When pressed about whether that meant he will suit up for the Irish next season, Fuller's response was "yes, yes."

Fuller said he hadn't informed coach Brian Kelly of his intentions, but if he sticks to his decision, it will be quite the coup for the Irish. He has been projected as high as a late first-round pick in next year's NFL draft. The deadline to apply for early entry is Jan. 18.

Fuller has 44 catches for 900 yards with 12 touchdowns this season, and his 20.5 yards per catch is second in the nation among players with 30 or more receptions. He had 76 catches for 1,094 yards and 15 touchdowns last season and is second in Notre Dame history with 28 touchdown catches.

Left tackle Ronnie Stanley, who along with defensive lineman Sheldon Day made the same decision last season, said he has talked with Fuller about the benefits of staying.

"Will's asked me why I've come back," Stanley said. "We've had talks. He took it seriously. I think he's only going to improve."
