Serial murderer Rose West has been suffering from 'sleepless nights' after moving to a new prison, according to new reports.
The mum-of-eight who was convicted of killing ten women, including her own teenage daughter Heather, was moved to New Hall Prison in Wakefield last month.
West is serving a life sentence for her role in a series of murders carried out in Gloucestershire in the 1970s and 1980s, her husband Fred escaped justice when he killed himself while on remand in 1995.
Now West, who was recently moved to the Rivendell Wing at the high security prison, is struggling to sleep according to the Daily Star.
Gloucestershire Live reports a source told the paper: "West has moaned to fellow inmates that she is turning in with a pillow over her head to try and escape the racket but she still can’t get any shut eye."
The trouble apparently stems from the fact the wing houses women with severe personality disorders, many of whom are checked regularly through the night. The Star's source claims there is a lot of shouting and noise every night from the inmates as well as from the staff on patrol.
It follows her move to the Yorkshire prison last month, reportedly due to concerns about her health.
The new unit is a far cry from a lonely prison cell, prisoners being kept in Rivendell can care for free-range chickens in the self-contained block, which prison inspectors say offers an "excellent, therapeutic environment."
She allegedly upset other inmates after making a strawberry cheesecake in hopes to defuse violent situations. It comes after inmates were told to 'be nice' to the killer.
