The iconic Oasis-vs-Blur Britpop battle kicked off because of a vicious love triangle involving Liam Gallagher and Damon Albarn, rocker Noel claims.
Oasis and Blur had many well-documented fall outs and fights in the 90s as they went head-to-head to be Britain's biggest band.
The Sun report that Liam’s brother and former bandmate Noel says it all kicked off in 1995 when it was discovered Blur big shot Damon had a fling with Liam's unnamed girlfriend.
Noel also alleges the pair’s use of “too much” cocaine added to their mutual hatred.
Noel said: “Liam and Damon were s****ing the same bird and there was a lot of cocaine involved.
“That’s where the germ of it grew from,” according to new book Don't Look Back In Anger,
He then added: “There was a situation with a girl. That created the Britpop war. Damon s****ed somebody close to Liam. It was one of many women Damon was friendly with.
“Then he got off with her for a one-night stand. They were all goading each other after that.”
While Noel and his younger brother Liam still aren't talking despite pleas to call an end to their years of bickering.
Noel's wife Sara MacDonald claims their son has never met Uncle Liam amid family feud.
She fears that Liam could turn on 12-year-old Donovan and Sonny, nine - and she wants an end to it for the sake of the boys.
The 48-year-old said she has to stop her boys from searching for reports on the Oasis stars' spat so they don't find "horrible" reports.
She told Vogue magazine: "Donovan's new school friends can't understand why he's never met his uncle and he has started Googling things.
"I've said 'You have to stop. You are going to read horrible things about us.' I don't want my boys to think that's a normal relationship between brothers."
Liam appears to blame blamed Sara for stopping an Oasis reunion.
A fan tweeted him, asking: "Hi Liam, do you know why Noel hates oasis reunion so much??????"
Liam responded: "I've told you before he's rite up for it but you know who won’t let him as she doesn't like oasis music."
