An Austin woman just made serious allegations against one of the city’s popular smoothie chains, telling TikTokers about cockroaches and rats that may have contaminated one of their locations.
The creator, known as @yayaxkush, said she worked at Juiceland, a Texas-based smoothie company with 600+ locations, for two years. In a video with over 140,000 views, she discussed her specific location in The Domain, an outdoor mall in Austin, Texas, which apparently has a horrifying pest infestation that’s still unresolved.
“Do not go to the Juiceland in the Domain,” she said. “I just quit in July because I just couldn’t take it… It wasn’t sitting well with my spirit that we were selling roach smoothies [or] rat-contaminated smoothies… and nothing was being done about it. Every single day [it was] just disgusting. Everything [was] contaminated.”
According to her, Juiceland’s Domain shop has cycled through problems with mold, rats, and cockroaches, sometimes all at once. A year ago, the roach issue became “really, really bad,” and has since persisted.
She also claimed that a current employee sent her recent photos showing that the vermin remain. She then displayed what she said was a photo from the store with visible cockroaches, allegedly sent to her to prove the store is still ignoring its pest problem.
Is Juiceland deliberately ignoring the issue?
While @yayaxkush didn’t mention corporate involvement, she did say the management team at the Domain seemingly ignored their requests for solutions.
@Yayaxkush claimed that whenever she or other employees raised concerns with their manager, they were brushed off. Management allegedly “gaslight[ed]” workers about how severe the issue was, offering only a spray that never solved the problem. According to her, the cockroaches always came back or never left to begin with.
As evidence, she shared a photo dated June 23, 2025. The image shows a small bug sitting on top of ice in the bottom right corner. @Yayaxkush mentioned that bugs would end up in ice used for drinks, on equipment, and inside supplements.
She also accused the company of “mess[ing] with their money,” claiming Juiceland failed to pay employees correctly. “They were making us pay them back,” she added.
@Yayaxkush ended her video by saying she “allegedly” has more photos of mold, rats, and cockroaches from inside the store. She did not show those additional photos in her TikTok, but did show viewers a few photos with vermin in them throughout her six-minute video.
Austinites react
The post set off a wave of reactions from Austin residents who either love or hate the Domain. Many turned their focus not only to Juiceland but to the popular outdoor mall, well known in the city for its supposed upscale energy.
Despite many people crediting the outdoor mall as a “nicer” location, others feel it gives an “ominous energy,” as one commenter suggested.
Another added, “Don’t eat [or] drink in the Domain…If it’s one place it’s all the places.”
Rodents often appear wherever food is available, which makes restaurants and shopping areas easy targets. That means any location with multiple dining spots could be at risk. While some comments suggested that the mall may have a general rodent or cockroach problem, there is no current proof that other businesses in the area have health hazards.
