Arsenal target Danilo has admitted that he's still focused on his job at Palmeiras amid reports that he's closing in on a move to north London.
Arsenal explored a deal for Danilo this summer, however, it was anticipated that negotiations would be tough to negotiate due to Palmeiras' reluctance to sell.
Despite this, interest could be reignited in January, football.london understands. The Brazilian side wanted to keep Danilo at the time due to their involvement in the Copa Libertadores semi-finals, while the early closure of the Brazilian transfer window also meant that it wasn't possible for them to bring in a replacement.
Technical director Edu is a long-term admirer of Danilo, having first shown an interest in the midfielder earlier this year. His ability to operate as a progressive No.6 matches the profile of player the club is looking for, with further backup for the often injured Thomas Partey required.

Danilo remains one of the most talented young midfielders in Brazil and a key player for his side. It's unlikely that he will come cheap, but Palmeiras could reluctantly grant Danilo's wish if he wishes to move on in the coming months.
According to The Sun, Arsenal believes an improved £26 million bid can convince Palmeiras to cash in. However, the midfielder has insisted that he's fully committed to his current side.
"About going abroad, there is still nothing," he told Band Sports via HITC. "As I have always said, I leave it to my agents (to sort out). I'm still focused on Palmeiras."
Danilo's answer is an expected one. Gunners supporters will simply be hoping that he has one eye on a move to the Premier League. Edu has a history of signing Brazilian players, and adding another to the ranks should go down well with the current group in north London.
