NotebookLM Got 56% More Popular—And the Best Is Yet to Come

Google’s AI-powered research assistant, NotebookLM, is showing early signs of breakout success. According to new data shared by Similarweb, monthly visits to the platform have grown by 56% over the past six months.

This uptrend signals a strong adoption trend in the coming time and much steeper growth ahead. The company has now rolled out its mobile app. On top of that, at the recently concluded Google I/O 2025, the tech giant also announced a bunch of new features to the platform.

Mobile App Launch Sets Stage for Mass Adoption

Google has launched the official NotebookLM mobile app on both Android and iOS. Available in markets like India, the app supports Android 10+ and iOS 17+ devices, including iPads.

Since mobile is a primary computing platform for millions of users globally, especially for students and professionals in emerging markets. The app launch is expected to tenfold the NotebookLM adoption in the coming time.

Google I/O 2025: NotebookLM Gets Smarter and More Visual

At the recently concluded I/O 2025 event, the company unveiled a bunch of new features for NotebookLM. The most exciting announcement was Video Overviews, a feature that can take complex inputs like research notes, PDFs, and images and turn them into dynamic, narrated video summaries.

Building on its popular Audio Overviews feature, NotebookLM now allows you to choose the length of audio summaries: short, standard, or extended, depending on your learning needs or time constraints.

However, the key takeaway is this: NotebookLM’s 56% growth happened before these game-changing updates went live. With mobile access and powerful summarization tools now in place, the platform is poised for an even steeper adoption curve in the months ahead.
