A TikToker has gone viral after sharing her insane experience on a Newark to Charleston flight. For Haley Rose (@haleyrose99), things got off to a rocky start when the flight was delayed for three hours. Then, once she and other passengers boarded, they were left sitting on the plane for a further hour and a half.
“You can feel the collective exhaustion,” Rose recounted.
But these mild inconveniences were nothing compared to what happened next.
Suddenly, a woman on the flight “loses it,” and started repeating “the C-word.”
When her seatmate tried to tell her to calm down, the situation deteriorated. “That was just not the right thing to say to her because then she completely loses it and is like telling her to unalive herself, saying, ‘You don’t know my life. You don’t know where I have to be tomorrow,’ and she’s just going crazy, still screaming that word.”
“And then the man behind me goes, ‘We all have somewhere to be. My mom’s funeral is tomorrow,’ and that just kind of put everything into perspective for everyone,” Rose recounted. “We’re all stressed; we all have our own things going on.”

The flight became ‘total chaos’
The flight attendants then moved the two women sitting next to the lady, and it was at this point that things started “spiralling.”
The woman saw the passenger next to the TikToker recording, so she started recording her.
“It was just total chaos for a minute,” Rose recounted. “The crew then had the biggest guys on the plane sit next to her, just in case she got physical. And once we returned to the gate, she was escorted off, and she started putting her sunglasses on and started going, ‘Thank God, thank God, thank God. Thank you, thank God.’ And just like storming off the plane.”
“The flight attendants were actually angels,” Rose concluded. “Everyone stayed calm, and it just goes to show you don’t know what everyone’s going through, but just maybe don’t say the C-word on a plane.”
Rose didn’t immediately respond to The Mary Sue’s request for comment via TikTok comment.
The video amassed 157,400 views.
What did commenters think?
Commenters were just as baffled by it all as Rose was. “Emotional regulation should be taught in school,” one wrote. “I was just on a flight from Chicago to Orlando, we were all on the plane 10 hours because of delays,” another shared. “Everybody handled it so well. Even the ones with little kids. No one’s fault. It happens sometimes.”
While a third opined that “people are so unbelievably selfish and crazy on flights.”
“Weird,” a fourth added. “She travelled during a government shutdown and expected everything to go smoothly.”
Elsewhere, commenters also showed concern for the man on the flight.
“That kind of delay really sucks but people need to chill,” a fifth commented. “That poor man who was on his way to his mom’s funeral.”
While a sixth asked, “Did you make it to your destination that night so the poor guy could go to his mom’s funeral?”
Why are some airline passengers so entitled?
Another troublesome passenger recently went viral after asking a flight attendant for a blanket.
Liz (@elizabethdarbe), the flight attendant, told the passenger that they didn’t provide blankets for domestic flights, with this flight only lasting an hour.
But the biggest shock was yet to come, with the passenger then asking Liz if she could use her jacket as a blanket. When asked this Liz, assumed that “she meant her jacket out of the overhead, and she wanted me to help her get it down.”
However, the customer then reiterated that she wanted Liz’s jacket specifically. In response, she just walked away.
