Fans have offered a mixed response to Manchester United rejecting a transfer request from Dean Henderson.
The 24-year-old displaced long-serving David de Gea between the posts at Old Trafford last season but, owing to his prolonged recovery from Covid-19 - and the Spaniard being in superb form - Henderson has been made to play second fiddle this term.
With the 2022 World Cup in Qatar on the horizon, the academy graduate wants to win back his England spot and, ultimately, requested a January move.
However, after discussions with interim manager Ralf Rangnick, that was turned down as revealed by the MEN.
Speaking to talkSPORT about the decision, Rangnick said: "A couple of weeks ago he asked me [if he could leave], but I told him I'd rather have him stay until the end of the season.
"We are very happy with our goalkeepers, but if it's up to me I wouldn't want him to leave."
Here are a selection of comments from United supporters about the Henderson situation;
@SamBarnes92 said: "We could live to regret the day he leaves."
@NP18_ posted: "Henderson is a great keeper, but he isn't going to get in ahead of de Gea right now, so we might as well let him go and get some game-time elsewhere."
@MaxKnows18 added: "I'm not surprised. He was meant to start the season as first-choice and then got Covid for a long time. De Gea took advantage. His problem isn't with the club it's that de Gea is looking like a good goalkeeper once again."

@pierro16 posted: "What does he expect, though? De Gea is better. It goes with the territory for goalkeepers."
@jakeharvey91 added: "Newcastle loan makes sense, then come back and be given another chance at becoming number one."
