Not so horrid Henry

Horrid Henry

Forget Apple, Brooklyn or Diva Thin Muffin Pigeen Zappa. This is the austerity age and today's celebrities are queuing up to show their "down with the commoners" street cred by giving their babies sensible names – names such as . . . well, Henry apparently.

It may recall a certain bad-boy king or the broken vacuum cleaner you're too attached to to chuck, but Henry is also the baby name of choice for celebrities such as Heidi Klum, Colin Farrell and, most recently, Killers frontman Brandon Flowers.

Frankly, little Henry Flowers was a lot luckier in the naming lottery than his brothers Gunnar and Ammon. Ammon was named for the incestuous son of Lot and his daughter in the Bible; and Gunnar appears to have been plucked from a Danish phonebook. Mind you, Flowers is the creative genius behind the lyrics "are we human, or are we dancer", so who are we to question his judgment?
