Being judged as a human being by Jeffrey Epstein, the modern era’s most notorious pedophile, is complicated. After all, if he wrote that he really likes your style and thinks you’re a great human being, that’s not great!
But if he thinks you’re irredeemable scum, then congratulations! Jeffrey Epstein, of all people, is looking down at you for your lack of moral character. It’s a no-win situation but, amusingly, the exact one the President of the United States is in at this very moment.
On Wednesday, the House Oversight Committee released a huge batch of Epstein’s emails, with one name in particular coming up over and over again in relation to encounters with the unfortunate young women who fell into Epstein’s orbit.
Yup, it’s Donald Trump. So, what did one of the 21st century’s greatest monsters have to say about him? In a 2017 email to economist Larry Summers, Epstein didn’t mince words:
“I have met some very bad people, none as bad as Trump. Not one decent cell in his body.”
Epstein’s opinion of Trump didn’t soften over time. Just a year later (and one year before Epstein’s mysterious death in a Manhattan jail cell), he told New York Times financial journalist Landon Thomas Jr:
“he feels alone. and is nuts !!! , I told everyone from day one. evil beyond belief. mad, and most thought i was speaking metaphorically. its obvious he could crack. stormy daniels. ? lies after lies aflter lies”
What did he know?
You have to wonder what it was about Trump that made Epstein, a man who was trafficking teenage girls to be used for his sick sexual games, so disgusted. I mean, Trump being the worst person Epstein ever met definitely points towards him having done some supremely messed-up things.
We may know what those messed-up things are very soon. With MAGA stalwarts Lauren Boebert and Nancy Mace both refusing White House pressure to remove their names from a discharge petition to force a vote on the Epstein files, we may finally get full disclosure. Who knows what’s in there, but whatever it is, Trump seems desperate to keep it from the public.
If only Epstein himself could tell us! Yup, it’s annoyingly convenient for Trump that the one guy who knew where all the skeletons were buried wasn’t being monitored in his cell and had the materials inside to end his own life. Oh well, Trump has always been a lucky guy, right?
