'Not on the wing!' - Liverpool fans nervous as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain replaces Mohamed Salah

Jurgen Klopp has opted to start Mohamed Salah on the bench and bring Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain into the fold to face Crystal Palace.

The Egyptian international has struggled with a knock from the win over Leicester City and suffered a set back in the Reds win over Manchester City before the international break.

Ahead of the game Klopp said: “It was getting better and better and then…it is good but it was after the (City) game again, another tackle, it flared up again.

“It is not serious but in the short period we have to let it settle it is always tight for the game.

“We will see. He trained completely yesterday, a full session, but we have to see how he reacted.”

He was clearly not convinced enough to start Salah against the Eagles and Oxlade-Chamberlain makes his ninth Premier League appearance of the season as he continues to reestablish himself as a crucial part of Klopp's plans.

Fans appear to be pretty happy the former Arsenal star is been given a chance but a few are definitely a little nervous about the fact he may be starting directly in Salah's position. However, Klopp could opt for a diamond formation this afternoon.
