'Not on Saturday' - Phillip Cocu offers message to Derby County players for Nottingham Forest clash

Phillip Cocu is relishing his first East Midlands derby in the Championship as Derby County manager.

Cocu will take his Derby side to the City Ground for Saturday's early kick-off in the second tier, with the Rams four points and 10 places adrift of Nottingham Forest ahead of the game.

Forest have already hosted their neighbours from down the A52 this season, easing to a 3-0 victory in the Carabao Cup second round back in August.

Still, ex-Barcelona star Cocu is looking forward to something "a little bit different" to every other Championship game when the rivals meet on Trentside this weekend.

"It is a very big game, and I like it. Even in the League Cup it was a big crowd, great atmosphere," he told Derbyshire Live.

"If you are a young player you have to get used to the pressure, the extra attention that is coming when you play these kind of games.

"The moment you deal with, I think it is the best game to play, a lot at stake.

"You feel at the start of this week, it is a little bit different than any other week because of the game that is coming up. I like it. That is what football is about.

"You have to be motivated every game, but we cannot deny there are differences in certain games you play, and this is an example.

"I loved to play these kind of games. I cannot play any more, I have to do it standing on the sideline but look forward to coaching in the big games."

Sabri Lamouchi celebrates his 48th birthday on Saturday - and he will be hopeful of marking it with another victory over Derby to strengthen Forest's top-six position.

Cocu, though, is calling for his players to ensure three points are one present the Reds boss will not be opening.

"Yes, maybe he can get a gift on Sunday, but not on Saturday because it is an important match for both teams," added the Rams head coach.

"We will do everything to get a good result on Saturday."
