General election: ‘Not My Prime Minister’ Glasgow protest against Boris Johnson planned today

Glaswegians will gather in protest of Boris Johnson today (Friday) following another Conservative win in yesterday’s general election.

Here in Scotland, it was with 48 of 59 seats going to Nicola Sturgeon’s party - but down south, the Conservatives swept the board with 364 seats in total.

The news of a Conservative win has prompted today’s demonstration, Glasgow says ‘Not My Prime Minister’, kicking off at 6pm in the city centre this evening.

The Facebook event page, which shows 1.8k people interested in attending so far, calls out the Johnson as “not fit to represent a multicultural society” and accuses the PM of racism, bigotry and homophobia.

It reads: “We cannot have him as Prime Minister for the next five years. Let’s greet the first day of Johnson’s new term with protests across the country.”
