'Not many teams can deal with it' - Pundits predictions ahead of Leeds United vs West Brom

Leeds United are overwhelming favourites to finish off their first season back in the Premier League with a victory over already-relegated West Brom.

Already guaranteed a top-half finish, the Whites - who have drawn praise from far and wide under Marcelo Bielsa - can technically pip Tottenham to seventh-place on the final day.

However, on account of their vastly inferior goal difference, it's more likely that Leeds will end up between 8th and 10th on the back of tomorrow afternoon's results.

Of course, the final day fixture against West Brom sees 8,000 lucky supporters return to Elland Road.

But will Bielsa's side be able to mark the occasion with three points? Here is how the pundits see this one going;

Mark Lawrenson (BBC Sport)

Speaking to BBC Sport, former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson - who predicts a 2-0 victory for Leeds - said: "Leeds have not won any trophies this season, but they deserve more than an honourable mention for what they have done and the way they have done it.

"Some people are already saying they will find it harder next season because the opposition will know how they play under Marcelo Bielsa, but they already do - it's just that not many teams can deal with it.

"I'm not surprised former Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder is being linked with the West Brom job now that Sam Allardyce has already said he is leaving. Wilder is available, he knows the Championship and he knows how to get teams promoted. It seems like the perfect fit to me."

Michael Owen (BetVictor)

In his latest BetVictor column, former Liverpool and England striker Michael Owen - who thinks the game will finish 3-1 to the Whites - added: "What a season it has been for Leeds fans. There has never been a dull moment, with the highlight being their terrific 2-1 win at the Etihad with only 10 men.

"West Brom travel here knowing that after these 90 minutes, they'll be playing Championship football next season. Sam Allardyce won't be sticking around, so you get the feeling they'll want to get this match out the way and move on. With that in mind, there's only one winner for me. I'm expecting Leeds to end on a high with a comfortable win."

FiveThirtyEight

According to FiveThirtyEight, a leading sports supercomputer, Leeds have a 49 per cent chance of picking up three points against their already-relegated opponents.

As for West Brom, the likelihood of them claiming victory stands at 28 per cent, with the draw rated at 24 per cent.
