‘Not looking so good’: JD Vance’s post from 2021 is suddenly trending for all the wrong reasons — and it’s about the Epstein Files

JD Vance once demanded that the Epstein Files be released. Now, he won’t even demand an explanation. Case documents dropped, Trump’s name popped up, and suddenly, the Vice President’s Wi-Fi has stopped working.

When 20,000 pages from the Jeffrey Epstein Files landed with the House Oversight Committee this week, it dragged the hidden criminals back into view. The pages included emails where Epstein says an alleged victim “spent hours at my house” with Donald Trump. In an email dated April 2, 2011, from Epstein to Ghislaine Maxwell, he called Trump “that dog that hasn’t barked“:

“I want you to realize that that dog that hasn’t barked is Trump. VICTIM spent hours at my house with him, he has never once been mentioned.” (via NY Times)

Trump hasn’t been charged regarding his involvement, but his proximity to Epstein now lives in official email chains. As a bipartisan petition forces a vote on releasing the full Epstein Files, there has been an awkward silence in the MAGA hood. And amid this, JD Vance has been exposed for changing sides toward the criminal government for his political gains.

Back in Dec. 2021, pre–running mate, Vance was critically vocal about the Epstein Files. Replying to a post about Maxwell’s “little black book” being sealed, he asked, “What possible interest would the US government have in keeping Epstein’s clients secret?” He also shamed journalists who weren’t on the case, asking, “What purpose do you even serve?”

“If you’re a journalist and you’re not asking questions about this case, you should be ashamed of yourself. What purpose do you even serve? I’m sure there’s a middle-class teenager somewhere who could use some harassing right now but maybe try to do your job once in a while.”

But then came the Trump alliance. Since hitching himself to a president long associated with Epstein, Vance has had almost nothing to say about the scandal. Even as new documents dropped and Virginia Giuffre’s posthumous memoir renewed pressure for full file disclosure, he has kept mum. The man who once raged at the US government for secrecy has now joined in their effort.

But there’s a clear motivation behind his strategic silence. Being tied to the cover-up will kill his dreams of the presidency next term. “JD Vance has remained eerily quiet on the Epstein fiasco,” one user on X noted. “He knows being connected to this cover-up will kill his own political dreams of becoming President. He is JUST as responsible for the cover-up!”

Even under his 2021 post, the fresh replies are blunt. “Hey man, it’s not looking so good right now,” one wrote. “JD, you’re the US government now. Release the files,” another pressed. “Could you at least let us know what changed your mind?” and the frustration continued. Users are mockingly following up on his post and refusing to look away, exactly what Vance once demanded of journalists.

The man had once argued that hiding Epstein’s clients protected the powerful at the expense of trafficked girls. But now that one of those powerful men is his political meal ticket, he’s protecting the arrangement with ambition. The Epstein Files have always been a stain on both parties. But what’s new is that the self-styled truth-teller Vance stepped into the stain instead of helping scrub it.

If Vance doesn’t fight for a vote to release the full file now, America should know where his principles lie. It’s his selfish political dreams against justice for innocents exploited by his boss and his pedophile friend. So far, he has clearly chosen a side.
