Not in Kansas anymore: Dog owner 'speechless' after lost Labrador found 50 miles away at old home in Missouri

A dog owner was left "speechless" after his missing pooch was found more than 50 miles away at the family's old house.

The owners of Cleo, a four-year-old Labrador, had not lived in Lawson, Missouri for two years. But that is where she ended up after going missing.

According to TV station KMBC, Cleo would have travelled 57 miles from her current home in Olathe, Kansas to her previous home in Missouri.

"My wife and I had just gotten home from work," Colton Michael, the new owner of the house, told CNN.

"Cleo was laying on the front porch at the front door, just laying there, waiting for somebody it seemed like."

Mr Michael's wife noticed that the last name which was pulled up on the dog's microchip was the same name as the previous owner of the house.

They used Facebook to search the owner's name and saw that his family had posted that their dog went missing a week earlier.

"I told him that we found his dog, but once I told him where we were, he was kind of speechless," Michael told CNN.

Neither of the families know how Cleo managed the journey, but the owners are relieved to have her back.

"It's the most bizarre story. Really, she's everything to us and to my mother," her owner said.
