Don’t tamper with Test format: Kohli

India skipper Virat Kohli on Saturday rejected the idea of having four-day Tests, saying the five-day format should not be altered.

Kohli said there was no need of another format just to commercialise the game.

“T20 was a revelation. I was not in favour of the 100-ball (format), either. I'm not going to try myself out in another format, because there's already so much going on,” Kohli said.

“With Test cricket, day-night Tests is the most that should be changed,” he said.

Talking about getting numbers and entertainment was not right. The talk then would go on to three-day Tests, he said.

“I mean, where do you stop? I don't endorse that at all. I don't think that is fair to the purest format of the game. Five-day Tests is the highest of tests you can have at the international level. It should not be altered,” he stated.
