'Not having this' - Bristol Rovers fans react to news of Tom Lockyer's impending departure

Tom Lockyer is reportedly set to play his final game for Bristol Rovers this afternoon.

After more than 250 league appearances for the Gas, Lockyer is reportedly off to pastures new this summer and will captain the side for the final time against Barnsley.

On social media, Rovers fans were quick to pay tribute to the departing skipper, although many were sad to see him go.

Michael Willett, @1MichaelWillett

“Been my favourite Rovers player for years. Must have learnt a lot during his time here and certainly as skipper. Tom, where ever you’re going, all the best. You’ve been class.”

David Flewellen, @DavidFlewellen

“Nope. Not having this.”

Jonez, @Dr_Jonez

“This has been blatantly obvious for weeks if not months. All the best to him.”

Jack, @Jackobrfc999

“Devastated about Lockyer. But I wish him all the best. Could never stand in a players way of making a better life for his family and dreams of starting for his country! Just hope he does it”

Luke Shearing, @LukeShearing11

“If Lockyer goes for less than £1 million then honestly I give up”

@BRFCdiscussions

“Tom Lockyer has been at the club for 8 years through thick and thin and throughout has carried our defence as others have fallen and moved on. At just 24, he has so much potential and will no doubt be a key player for Wales soon enough. Huge loss, big mistake.”
