'Not happy' - Nottingham Forest fans issue verdict on loan decision

Nottingham Forest fans have been reacting to the news that goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon has left the club on loan.

The former Manchester City stopper has signed for Cypriot side AC Omonia on a temporary deal, and will spend the remainder of the season away from the City Ground.

Pantilimon made the move to Trentside, initially on loan, from Deportivo in January 2018, before making the move permanent that July when he penned a three-year deal.

He was first-choice between the posts for the Reds last term, making 44 appearances in the Garibaldi.

However, Forest strengthened their goalkeeping ranks during the summer, with Manchester City loanee Arijanet Muric and Brice Samba added to the squad.

After the news was announced, Forest fans took to social media to express their thoughts and emotions on Pantilimon’s departure.

Here is a selection of what they had to say.

Hannah Forest: “I keep forgetting that he was still here at Forest. I am not happy with the way he has been treated, but I prefer Samba in goal any day.”

AJ: “No idea why he was dropped in the first place as I rate him but Samba has done so well so we can’t grumble. He needs game time so good move for all parties.”

Noiritap: “Sad to see him go don’t think he deserved to be treated like he has been, yes makes the odd clanger but also kept a good few clean sheets last year in a poor team.”

Kieran: “Would’ve preferred a permanent.”

Nick: “Good luck Costel.”

Rhys Williams: “Really weird how him, Yacob and Milosevic never even made the bench this season.”

Christian Brown: “No issues from me, 15 clean sheets last year - all the best to him.”
