Jurgen Klopp has expressed concerns over the news that Ralf Rangnick is on the verge of being named as interim Manchester United manager.
The Manchester Evening News have reported that United have reached an agreement to appoint the 63-year-old as their interim manager following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
A six-month deal has been agreed to take charge until the end of May before he takes up a consultancy role for an initial two-year period.
It is hoped that Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino will take the reins on a permanent basis at the end of the season with the Reds still very much in pursuit of the former Spurs boss.
The Liverpool manager had multiple skirmishes with his German compatriot during his time in Germany where he managed Mainz and Borussia Dortmund.
Rangnick began his managerial career in 1983 and is said to be one of the visionaries for the 'Gegenpress' tactics but the coach played a huge hand in building Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig into the European contenders they are today.
Klopp was quizzed about the possibility of the former Leipzig boss arriving in the Premier League and it was greeted with apprehension from the Anfield man.
"It's a bit tricky, usually we don't talk about things [when] they're not confirmed yet but if you tell me that will happen then I might believe you.
"Unfortunately, a good coach is coming to England so that's how it is, coming to Manchester United. Ralf is obviously a really, really, experienced manager, build almost famously two clubs from nowhere to proper threats and forces in Germany with Hoffenheim and Leipzig.
"Did a lot of different jobs in football but his first concern was always being a manager and that's what his best skill is. United will be organised, I think on the pitch we will have to realise that, that's obviously not good news for other teams.
"But, like all coaches in the world we need time to train with our teams and Ralf will pretty quickly realise that because they play all the time so that makes it a bit trickier for him.
"But apart from that, a really good man and an outstanding coach, if it happens, will come to England."
There will be an element of concern in the back of Klopp's mind with Rangnick getting the upper hand on his opposite number six times in 13 meetings with the former Dortmund boss coming out on top on just two occasions.
