'Not for everyone' - Chelsea fans poke fun at Man City after victory over Brighton

Chelsea have the best defence in the Premier League.

That was confirmed following the late game between Brighton and Manchester City, with the current Premier League champions winning 4-1.

The Blues' 7-0 thrashing of Norwich City in the lunchtime kick-off meant Chelsea maintained their record of only three goals conceded so far this season.

City’s 4-1 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion saw them concede a penalty that was converted by Alexis Mac Allister - the fourth they have conceded this season, meaning Chelsea officially went clear of them in the defensive rankings.

Despite their solid foundations, Thomas Tuchel has been criticised for his side’s fire power going forward. However, their seven goals against the Canaries also put them top of the goal scoring charts with 23 goals scored.

On his defence, Tuchel said to the official Chelsea website: “Does it have less value that we are a difficult team to play against compared with being a team that always easily scores three goals? Who always scores easy anyway?

“You can also score from counter-attacks and from ball wins,” he adds. “Creating chances against the opponent who's defending deep, and a lot of teams are defending deep against us at the moment, it's maybe the most difficult thing. So we're looking for solutions. That's why we're here. One solution could be to change formation to put more offensive players. Let’s see.”

Have your say on Chelsea's player ratings against Norwich

Chelsea fans were quick to react to their side becoming the best defensive side in the league.

Les Byatt: “Clean sheets are not for everyone.”

CFCNoBias: “Wow we can park the bus AND be the leagues highest scorers?!? Tuchel is a genius.”

Mark: “That number again @ThreeUK”

Zern0h: “7 games down this gameweek, only Chelsea didn't concede.”
