Chelsea supporters won't like who Vincent Kompany has named as the best centre-back of all-time in the Premier League.
The debate - which is understandably a tough one given the quality of defenders this country has seen over the years - has been brought up again of late.
Some of the contenders frequently mentioned are Blues legend John Terry, Manchester United's trio of Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic and Jaap Stam as well as former Arsenal star Sol Campbell among plenty others.
Another name also in the mix is Vincent Kompany.
Although, the ex-Manchester City hasn't named himself as the best centre-back of the Premier League era - instead giving the award to Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk.
"I never try to compare," Kompany responded to Sky Sports when asked where he ranked in the list. "My journey is different, I’ve had to deal with different tools.
"For me not to play this game, let’s not escape the irony. So I've had to deal with that and I’ve tried to be substantial for my team.
"I would bring it back to Virgil van Dijk, he’s not been on the scene as long as Terry, Ferdinand who have been around for a long time but the signs he’s shown in the last few years show if he had been around longer he’d have been at the top for a long time.
"The Liverpool before Van Dijk and after are a completely different set up so, I’ll give him that one."
Whilst the Dutchman has been nothing short of superb ever since joining Liverpool from Southampton for £75m in the 2018 January transfer window, Kompany's pick has angered some Chelsea and Man United fans on social media.
The abjection comes down to the fact van Dijk is yet to achieve the same sort of success at the likes of Terry and Ferdinand.
