Arsenal are set to head into the January transfer window in a good place with Mikel Arteta's men currently sat in fifth place with 13 matches played in the Premier League.
Getting back into European competition will have been a top priority for the Gunners heading into this season after finishing in eighth last term and missing out entirely.
With the likes of West Ham, Manchester United, Leicester City, Spurs and Wolves all also fighting for those places, the January window could prove crucial.
One player who continues to be linked with a move to the Emirates is Lille midfielder Renato Sanches.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano recently delivered an update on Arteta and Edu's chase, telling his podcast via @GurjitAFC on Twitter: "Arsenal have had this boy on their list for a long time. I’m told he’s still a player that Arsenal like. He was on the list alongside Aouar. Lets see if Arsenal decide to jump at this opportunity. There’s nothing advanced."
But not all Arsenal fans are convinced he is a necessary signing.
Albert Sambi Lokonga was brought in during the summer transfer window to bolster Arteta's midfield options and offer competition to Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka.
Saturday saw the young Belgian put in a classy display against Newcastle at the Emirates, leaving some supporters convinced that a further addition is not necessary.
Others pointed to Sanches' injury record as a reason the Gunners should avoid moving for him.
