Not again! Rescue teams called out to two vehicles stranded on Holy Island causeway

Two parked vehicles had to be rescued from the Holy Island causeway on Good Friday after they were submerged by the rising tide.

Rescue teams were dispatched to the causeway on Friday afternoon to two stranded vehicles.

Water levels have reached the roof of one, with the tide up to the doors.

The owners of both vehicles were located "safe and well" on Holy Island.

HM Coastguard Holy Island posted on their Facebook page: "Holy Island and Berwick Coastguard Rescue Teams responded to 2 vehicles parked and submerged on Holy Island Causeway this afternoon.

"One vehicle with the water up to the roof and the other with water up to the doors.

"Coastguard Officers from Holy Island searched for the owners of the vehicles and located them safe and well on Holy Island."
