Writer Nostradamus predicts huge war in 2023 and gives Elon Musk Mars mission tip

Legendary soothsayer Nostradamus believed there will be a terrifying war next year which many have interpreted as an escalation of the conflict in Ukraine.

In his widely read book Les Prophéties released over 450 years ago, the Frenchman made thousands of predictions for the future and is credited with predicting the rise of Hitler, the shooting of JFK and the 9/11 attacks.

The Daily Star reports how time has done little to dull his prophecies, as he predicted a host of calamities for 2022 including an asteroid strike, inflation and starvation and AI robots taking over the earth.

Thankfully, three months into the year and his predictions are yet to materialise - though he suggested worse is to come next year.

In his writings, Nostradamus writes: 'Seven months the Great War, people dead of evil-doing.

"Rouen, Evreux shall not fall to the King."

This could be seen to allude to a larger World War 3 conflict stemming from the troubles in Ukraine arising next year.

The seven-month timeline on the conflict may initially seem like a cause for celebration, but with the terrifying nuclear arsenals of countries including America and Russia - perhaps it's best to err on the side of caution.

In this event though, it seems the French city of Rouen will at least be safe, although presumably Paris would be decimated.

Celestial fire

Nostradamus also alludes to a "Celestial fire on the Royal edifice" but it's a bit more sinister than a fire at Harry and Meghan's place.

Throughout the bible, doomsday or the "end of times" has always referenced fire as the key factor in the end of the world.

It is suggested that from the ashes of civilisation a new world order will emerge.

Although what this will look like is anyone's guess!

Mars out of reach

Cryptically, Nostradamus also referenced the "light on mars failing".

While this can be explained as the planet going into retrograde motion and appearing to move backward in the sky it could also reference the efforts of humanity to colonise the planet.

SpaceX founder and Tesla CEO Elon Musk has long suggested humans will land on Mars by 2029.

The world's richest man has long made it clear that he wants to colonise the red planet and said exploration and landing on Mars could be achieved by the end of the decade.

Perhaps the events of 2023 will make him rethink his prediction?
