Channel 4's 100 Greatest Kids' TV Shows attracted nearly 4m viewers last night, proving TV-related nostalgia remains a ratings turn-on.

The programme, fronted by Jamie Theakston, had 3.7m viewers and a 22% audience share between 8.30pm and 12.05am, according to unofficial overnights.

The strongest BBC2 opposition came from a repeat showing of the second world war movie, A Bridge Too Far, which had 2.2m viewers between 9.40pm and 12.30am.

Elsewhere, the two-part BBC1 costume drama, Victoria and Albert, concluded with a disappointing 4.3m viewers and a 25% audience share between 6.30pm and 8pm.

The previous night, the drama about Queen Victoria's relationship with her husband opened with 4.5m viewers and a 24% audience share between 7pm and 8.30pm.

The programme was up against Coronation Street on both occasions. On Sunday, the soap had 10.1m viewers while on Monday it clocked up 10.2m.
