Nostalgia and reputation have run out for the Steelers

There was a time when every Pittsburgh Steelers game carried with it a set of rules and a common theme. This was going to be the most physical game a team would play during the season and when the announcers said “Steeler football” this wasn’t something an opponent wanted to think about.

But those days are long gone. How long? I think it is safe to say 2016 was the last season when Pittsburgh really scared anyone. It was the last time the Steelers won a playoff game and the team has been trending down ever since.

How do the Steelers fix this? The easy answer is to win. Fans love to cling to the idea that head coach Mike Tomlin hasn’t had a losing season during his tenure but do you think this matters to the Kansas City Chiefs or Philadelphia Eagles? Just being competitive and never being a contender breeds complacency in the fanbase and in the team. The AFC is loaded and only getting better. Pittsburgh has some serious work to do to rebuild its reputation in the league and get back to being the type of team that other teams don’t want to play.

But we want to hear it from all of you. Have the Steelers lost their mojo and how do they get it back?
