The Carabao Cup returns this evening as the Premier League’s big hitters make their entrance into the competition.
Liverpool start their campaign with a trip to Carrow Road to take on a Norwich side who will have no doubt been hoping for a kinder draw as they look for a result to bring some cheer to what has been a pretty bleak start to the season.
The Canaries hammered Championship outfit Bournemouth in the second round but that result aside, Daniel Farke’s men have been suffering defeat after defeat - five of them in as many Premier League games since their return to the top flight.
Liverpool, meanwhile, are off to a flyer, level with Chelsea at the top of the league and having gotten their Champions League campaign off to a winning start with a thrilling victory over AC Milan at Anfield last week.
