Norwich seek second opinion on Adam Idah injury ahead of World Cup qualifiers

Norwich City expect Adam Idah to miss Ireland’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Serbia and Luxembourg.

The striker has been dogged by a hernia issue and Canaries boss Daniel Farke fears he may need surgery.

Idah missed the weekend win at Sheffield Wednesday and won’t feature against Nottingham Forest tomorrow.

Norwich are seeking a second opinion on Idah’s injury but the Corkman has it all to do to feature for Ireland.

Stephen Kenny names his squad on Thursday for next week’s trip to Serbia and then the home clash with Luxembourg.

Farke said today: "It's not the final decision (to rule him out) but it’s quite likely that it will happen.

“We’ll see another specialist this week and it's pretty likely he needs surgery

"If the second opinion is also in this way, then we’ll do it straight away and then of course he will not be available for the Ireland squad.

“We’ll see what happens over the next few days."

Idah's injury was flagged last week but confirmation of his absence would be another hammer blow to Kenny.

The Ireland boss is already without Darren Randolph and John Egan while Aaron Connolly, James McCarthy and Harry Arter are all but ruled out.
