Norwich hopeful Pukki can overcome toe injury ahead of Wolves game

(Reuters) - Norwich City boss Daniel Farke expects striker Teemu Pukki to be fit for the Premier League game against Wolverhampton Wanderers next weekend despite suffering a toe fracture against Leicester City on Saturday.

Pukki, Norwich's top scorer, struck in the 26th minute of their 1-1 draw at Leicester before sustaining the injury in the first half, but the Finland international played the full 90 minutes at King Power Stadium.

"We're a bit concerned because he fractured his toe in the first half. He had to play the second half with lots of pain," Farke told reporters.

"We don't know (the full extent of the injury) but he said it was pretty painful, and he has to see the doctor. We aren't too concerned as he has a week for it to settle down, and he's from Finland so he's a strong guy.

"I'm sure he will be fine for Wolves (next Saturday)."

The result meant that promoted Norwich, who are 19th with 12 points from 17 games, boosted their hopes of avoiding relegation from the top flight, and it also snapped second-placed Leicester's club-record eight-match winning streak.
