Norwich complete permanent signing of West Ham defender Sam Byram

Norwich have completed the permanent signing of West Ham defender Sam Byram for £750,000.

The 25-year-old joined the Hammers from Leeds in January 2016 but failed to hold down a starting role at the club.

Byram made just 17 Premier League starts for West Ham and becomes the fourth summer signing for newcomers Norwich.

The full-back, who spent last season on loan at Forest, has signed a four-year deal at Carrow Road.

“When I heard Norwich were interested, I was really interested [because of] how the manager [Daniel Farke] had the team playing last year.

“First and foremost, the football side of things [convinced me to sign]. I watched a lot of them last season with the fluid football and passing style, it’s obviously very attractive."

A West Ham statement said: "West Ham United would like to thank Sam for his efforts in Claret and Blue and wish him every success in his future career."
