Liverpool are set to host Norwich City at Anfield on the opening day of the season.
And following the fixture list release on Thursday the Reds have postponed plans to play Schalke in a pre-season friendly.
The game against the Bundesliga outfit was set to take place just 72 hours before Jurgen Klopp's men do battle with the Canaries.
Therefore the club announced that the clash with Joel Matip's former side had been cancelled.
In response to this announcement Norwich's official Twitter have aimed a cheeky dig at Liverpool.
The East Anglians replied to the Reds post, writing: "Getting nervous, guys?"
