Norwich City make Todd Cantwell decision amid Leeds United transfer links

Norwich City have left Todd Cantwell out of their squad for the Championship clash against Bournemouth amid transfer links with Leeds United.

The 22-year-old had featured in the opening two matches of the season against Brentford and Preston North End but was notably absent this afternoon.

Leeds have been in the market for a new central midfielder before the window closes on October 5 and Cantwell is among the most recent names linked with a move to Elland Road.

It was reported on Sunday morning that Leeds had made a £15m bid for the highly-rated midfielder, with it then expected he would miss the clash on the South Coast.

That was later confirmed by Daniel Farke's team selection, with Cantwell dropped from the starting line-up and not registered among the seven substitutes either.

Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa was non-committal when asked about the links following the 1-0 victory against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane, stating: "I ignore these situations."

Cantwell missed just a single match of Norwich's Premier League campaign last season, netting six goals and contributing two assists.
