Norwich boss Daniel Farke had 'proper outburst' at Adam Idah in training

Norwich City boss Daniel Farke has described having a 'proper outburst' at Adam Idah in training this week.

The Republic of Ireland teenager was the hero yesterday as he scored a late winner in the Canaries' Championship opener against Huddersfield.

Idah found the net after Teemu Pukki won possession from a weak backpass and teed up the young striker, who had just came on as a late substitute in the 75th minute.

It's been an exciting few weeks for the youngster after he made his Ireland senior debut earlier this month, he started both of Stephen Kenny's Nations League clashes against Bulgaria and Finland.

But manager Farke has revealed that the Corkman was lucky to even be involved in yesterday's game after an incident in the training ground earlier this week.

He claims that a lack of concentration and discipline led to him having words with the 19-year-old, and that his goal has seen Idah pay him back.

"I am allowed to tell you a secret," Farke told Norwich City's YouTube channel.

"I had a proper outburst with Adam Idah during this week. I didn't have the feeling that he was focused enough. It was difficult because he was in the spotlight having his debut for Ireland.

"During the training I had a proper outburst with him and asked him for more concentration and more discipline.

"After the training, I spoke with Michael McGovern because he is an experienced player and has influence on the young lads.

"After the game, he said, 'Listen, coach, I spoke with Adam and told him he has to pay back your trust'. We still picked him today, although he wasn't great during training this week. He has to pay back, and he did."
