Could four of Norway's biggest media groups merge? That possibility is being pursued by the the largest company, Schibsted , which is talking to the boards of Bergens Tidende, Fædrelandsvennen and Stavanger Aftenblad, though a fifth group, the Trondheim-based Adresseavisen has decided not to continue with negotiations. Schibsted, which owns the Oslo daily Aftenposten, would be likely to get a majority stake in any new enlarged company, provisionally called Media Norge. (Via Aftenposten)
