Norway chasing history

Norway have emerged as one of the surprise packages of the tournament, reaching the World Cup quarter-finals for the first time in their history.

Ståle Solbakken's side finished second in Group I behind France before registering landmark victories in the knockout rounds. England battle into last eight

England topped Group L ahead of Croatia, Ghana and Panama before overcoming two tough knockout tests.

The Three Lions came from behind to defeat DR Congo 2-1 in the Round of 32, with Harry Kane scoring twice late in the game. In the Round of 16, Thomas Tuchel's side edged co-hosts Mexico 3-2 despite playing much of the second half with 10 men after Jude Bellingham's brace helped them secure victory.

Their previous meetings include World Cup qualifiers for the 1982 and 1994 editions. The most recent encounter came in an international friendly at Wembley in 2014, where England secured a 1-0 win through a Wayne Rooney penalty.
