Norton’s Next Big Adventure Bike Is Coming, and I Might’ve Seen It Early

If you’ve been paying attention to the global motorcycle scene lately, you’ve probably noticed that TVS Motor Company has been quietly building an empire. The Indian manufacturer started out making small, reliable commuters, but over the past decade it’s grown into one of the most technologically capable motorcycle companies in Asia.

Through strategic partnerships and sheer engineering muscle, TVS has evolved into the kind of company that can produce world-class performance bikes (like the BMW G 310 series that it builds in India) and even resurrect a legendary British brand like Norton.

Now, it looks like TVS and Norton are ready to take their next big step. A report from India's AutoCar suggests Norton will unveil not just one, but four brand-new motorcycles at EICMA 2025, including a middleweight adventure bike that could slot into the 600–700cc range. This new ADV is reportedly being benchmarked against the Yamaha Ténéré 700 and Aprilia Tuareg 660, which means it’s aimed straight at the heart of the middleweight adventure segment.

I might have actually seen this bike in person during my recent visit to TVS’ factory in Hosur, India. While walking through one of the testing facilities, I caught a glimpse of a motorcycle being wheeled in under a black cloth. Cameras weren’t allowed inside the facility, so all I could do was take mental notes. The engine was running, and it definitely didn’t sound like a thumper. It had that smooth twin-cylinder hum. Something very uncharacteristic of TVS’ smaller singles.

Plus, from what I could see, it had tall suspension, dual-sport tires, and proportions similar to what you’d expect from a mid-size ADV like a Honda Transalp or a Yamaha Ténéré 700. For a moment, I thought it could’ve been the upcoming BMW F 450 GS, which TVS is also working on. But then again, it might’ve been something entirely new.

If the rumors are true, this could be a completely new platform developed by TVS for Norton—a middleweight twin-cylinder adventure bike that combines Indian engineering with British heritage. The powerplant is said to be a twin, possibly based on the old 650cc parallel-twin from the pre-TVS Norton Atlas project. Reviving and reengineering that motor would make sense, especially since it would allow TVS to build something unique while keeping development costs manageable.

For riders like us, this could be a big deal. The middleweight ADV space has exploded in popularity because it offers the perfect mix of power, weight, and versatility. If Norton and TVS manage to deliver a bike that’s reliable, capable off-road, and priced competitively, it could challenge established players from Japan and Europe alike. More importantly, it signals that TVS isn’t content to just be a contract manufacturer. Instead, it’s positioning itself as a serious global player in premium motorcycling.

We’ll know for sure when Norton takes the wraps off its new lineup at EICMA in November. But if what I saw in that test facility was any indication, TVS and Norton are gearing up to make a very loud statement. And when they do, I’ll have more to share from my recent deep dive into TVS’ world-class manufacturing hub in India. Needless to say, it was a trip that offered more than a few hints about what’s next for the company and the reborn Norton brand.
