Feb. 26--Northwestern guard Bryant McIntosh knows what it's like growing up in Indiana and pledging allegiance to the Hoosiers basketball program.
The Wildcats freshman has a chance to play against his favorite childhood team Wednesday night at Welsh-Ryan Arena.
The Wildcats and Hoosiers were tied 40-40 at the half. Indiana's Nick Zeisloft from Lyons Township, hit four three-pointers in the first half.
"I loved Indiana, especially when Bob Knight was there," said McIntosh, who grew up in New Castle, Ind. "My dad was a very big fan of Bob Knight, so I went to a lot of the games when I was younger. Growing up, it was kind of the dream school when I was younger, because I was my dad's sidekick. Then once kind of go outside of that and I was able to kind of think for myself, I eventually became a Duke fan. So it all worked out."
Wednesday night the Wildcat have an opportunity to win a fourth straight Big Ten game, a feat that has not been accomplished by the school since 1967.
The Wildcats will to contain Indiana guard Yogi Ferrell, who has hit at least one three-pointer in 59 straight games.
NU coach Chris Collins said he did not expect to have the services of injured senior guard JerShon Cobb.
