Jan. 04--It took what Chris Collins referred to as "a perfect storm" for Northwestern to upset Wisconsin last season at the Kohl Center.
Sunday night's circumstances at Welsh-Ryan Arena may not be quite so favorable as the fourth-ranked Badgers enter with a 13-1 overall record, 1-0 in the Big Ten.
"You get a team of Wisconsin's caliber, they are truly one of the few very, very elite teams in the country," said Collins, whose Wildcats (10-4, 1-0) enter on a four-game winning streak.
"We need a great home atmosphere and a great home crowd."
Collins also needs help from his post players containing Big Ten preseason Player of the Year Frank Kaminsky.
"What makes him so good is that he has got great teammates," Collins said of the 7-foot center. "So sometimes a really good post player like that, you can send two or three guys at him and take him out of the game, but you can't with them because he passes the ball so well. And he is playing with (Traevon) Jackson and (Josh) Gasser and (Sam) Dekker and (Nigel) Hayes.
"What makes them so good is that there are no weak links. So then a guy like Frank....he gets more room to operate and he is so talented and so skilled at his size. It just makes it a nightmare match-up for any team. What you have to try to do is try to make it as difficult as possible. You have to get him off his sweet spots on the floor."
