Northumberland Live launches as a new channel of ChronicleLive

ChronicleLive today launches a new local digital news brand to expand and improve our coverage of Northumberland.

Northumberland Live will operate as a channel of ChronicleLive, already the North East’s largest news site, with around 40m page views a month across desktop, mobile, app and Apple News.

The new brand will have its own dedicated homepage within the ChronicleLive website, alongside other geographical Live brands County Durham Live and Sunderland Live, which launched earlier this year.

Northumberland Live will also have its own dedicated pages on Facebook and Twitter, plus a daily newsletter highlighting the latest news, features, business news and what's on information for the county.

Helen Dalby, editor-in-chief of Reach in the North East, said: “We are hugely excited to be improving our coverage of Northumberland.

"This new digital launch reaffirms the commitment the Newcastle Chronicle and Journal have always had for the county, with The Journal seen very much as Northumberland’s daily newspaper since it was founded in 1832.

“We’re now confident we can build on our audience knowledge and digital publishing best practice to deliver a comprehensive and compelling news service to readers in Northumberland through our new social media channels.

“We’ve recently united the whole North East region behind a relaunch of the Passionate People, Passionate Places campaign - and during lockdown we've been rapidly expanding the campaign's content for the Northumberland area.

"As the tourism economy gets back on its feet, we want this important campaign to help celebrate all the county of Northumberland - and the wider North East - has to offer."

Along with Reach’s other digital brands in the North East, TeessideLive, Sunderland Live and County Durham Live, the launch of Northumberland Live means Reach now has complete coverage of the North East, from Alnwick in the North to Scotch Corner in the South.

Northumberland Live will go live at 11am on Tuesday, June 30, 2020. Go to www.northumberlandlive.co.uk to visit.
