A Northern Quarter cafe has released their festive menu and the range includes the return of ‘The King of the Christmas Sandwich’, among other seasonal treats.
Northern Soul usually has an annual stall at Manchester’s Christmas Market but this year they’re joining the likes of Great North Pie Co., One Star Doner and Mi & Pho at Escape to Freight Island’s Winter Island event.
Their menu heralds the return of their annual cult classic, stuffed with a three cheese filling, as well as turkey breast, cranberry, stuffing, gravy and topped with a gravy-soaked savoury lollipop.
Other sandwich offerings include ‘Brie Wish U A Merry Christmas’ which features brie, smoked streaky bacon and cranberry sauce and the ‘Ham-azing Grace’ stuffed with honey roasted ham, festive chutney and mustard.
There’s also a vegetarian option that includes feta, gridded vegetables and candied cranberries.
If you’ve still got room for yet more cheese, there’s a selection of sides to pair with your meal, with Brie Bites, Mozzarella Sticks and Truffle Fries.
Both the Tib Street venue and their Escape To Freight Island pop-up will offer the festive menu between November 5- December 31.
At the Winter Island event, guests can also enjoy more festive food, mulled wine, live DJ sets and more, as well as the addition of the brand new ice rink which sits above the Ticket Hall.
Northern Soul has been an enduringly popular addition to the Northern Quarter food scene since it opened its doors, proclaiming itself to be ‘The UK’s first Grilled Cheese Restaurant.’
One reviewer even described the café as being their ‘favourite place in the world’.
