Northern Rail's performance across 2019 was so bad that the government has finally decided to step in and strip it of its franchise.
But a leading analytics and market research company has said that the much-maligned rail firm was the most improved brand for UK customers last year.
YouGov's annual BrandIndex rankings take a look at thousands of big companies across the country and lists them in order of well they have performed over a 12 month period.
For all the criticism Northern faced in 2019, it saw its rating increase by a whopping eight points over the 12 month period.
However, it still had a negative rating overall, finishing with a net score of -5.5 for 2019.
Maplin (5.7 increase) was the second most improved UK brand in 2019, while Greggs came third (5.4 increase).
Northern was way off the mark in terms of the best brands overall though.
Netlfix was top with a score of 21.4, while Aldi was second with a score of 19.8.
Lidl, (15.1), MoneySavingExpert.com (14.9) and IKEA (13.2) made up the rest of the top five.
In sixth place was our very own Yorkshire Tea - the only brand based in God's Own County to make the list.

YouGov’s head of UK data products Amelia Brophy said: "Netflix only entered into the rankings in 2016 and has done well to be highly perceived by the public in such a short amount of time.
"2019 saw Netflix focus on developing and launching original content that caters for multiple markets and demographic groups.#
"This appears to have been successful, rewarding them with multiple award nominations, including the Oscars, and ensuring the brand was talked about positively more than ever before."
