A Northern Quarter bar is said to be offering 'the best tacos and craft beer' in the city with prices starting from £1- and one customer even claimed that the menu made her want to move to Manchester.
When Wolf at the Door first opened in 2019 on Thomas Street, it offered Scandi-style small plates but switched tactics in February 2020 to instead focus on wallet-friendly bar bites, including tacos and bao buns stuffed with a variety of fillings.
Tacos come brimming with everything from cauliflower shawarma and hoisin mushroom to pork pibil and jerk chicken, while inside the buns you'll find fillings including ham, egg and chips, pina colada prawns, and buffalo chicken and blue cheese.
There are four types of fries to choose from, topped with garlic butter and caramelised onions, pizza sauce and mozzarella or vegan cheese and sriracha mayonnaise, as well as regular fries.
The cocktail menu includes drinks with pun-filled names such as Grape Expectations made from purple grape cordial, Bonanto Aperitivo and Pisco, or Velvet Underground which combines Banana Rum, Velvet Falernum and Walnut bitters.
There are also more classic drinks on offer such as Martinis, Margaritas and Old Fashioned, as well as a selection of local beers and spirits to sip from.
For those looking to get the party started, there’s 24 different shots to pick from, ranging from the traditional limoncello to the downright wacky- corn whiskey, pineapple rum or Mezcal, described by the bar as ‘tequila’s weird but very hot cousin’.
The menu is available seven days a week, and is a food is served between 12pm-9pm.

“Special mention goes to the chippy shop bao with chip shop curry sauce and the nacho cheese taco-which they can do vegan if you ask. Also the loaded vegan fries are amazing.”
