Northern Lincolnshire Business Awards 2020 postponed again - but organisers promise 'huge celebration' in 2021

A major Humber business awards has been postponed again thanks to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic - but organisers have vowed to have a "huge celebration" next year.

The 2020 Northern Lincolnshire Business Awards ceremony, organised by Hull and Humber Chamber of Commerce, was due to take place on 20 October at Grimsby Auditorium after being moved from its original May date.

But the Chamber now says it has "no other option" but to postpone it again due to ongoing uncertainty about mass gatherings as the pandemic continues.

The ceremony will now take place at The Baths Hall in Scunthorpe on May 14.

The shortlist for the awards had been announced in March.

Anne Tate, Northern Lincolnshire Manager at the Chamber, said: “We realise how disappointing this news will be to those looking forward to the event but we are certainly looking forward to a huge celebration in 2021.

"One silver lining is that we can continue to profile and promote the nominated companies and their sponsors in the meantime - all testimony to their fantastic achievements in making the shortlist of companies to be recognised.”
