Northern Lights holidays in Iceland are going from £275pp including your flights

If you've always dreamed of seeing the Northern Lights, you may want to check out a new deal from Icelandair.

That's because Icelandair Holidays is currently offering Northern Lights holidays from £275pp in Iceland which includes return flights from either London or Manchester to Reykjavik, a 23kg checked bag and 10kg hand luggage, a three-night stay at Hotel Klettur in Reykjavik with breakfast and a welcome drink, as well as a Northern Lights tour.

The deal is valid for travel between October 1, 2021 to March 25, 2022. Although there's never a guarantee that you'll see the lights, the good news is that October through to March are the months where you're likely to have the best chance of spotting the natural phenomenon.

However, if you want to book the offer you'll need to do so on the Icelandair website here by September 22, when the sale ends.

It's worth noting that at the time of writing Iceland is only welcoming vaccinated Brits for non-essential travel reasons such as a holiday. You'll be required to show proof of vaccination - you can find out more about what this entails in the Foreign Office's Iceland travel advice.

As for the rules when you're back in the UK, Iceland is currently on the green list. This means that you won't need to self-isolate or quarantine when back in the UK, although you will need to take a pre-departure test, and a PCR test on day two of being back.

Iceland is one of the best countries for seeing the Northern Lights. You won't need to venture into remote landscapes to try and see the Aurora. In fact, sightings are possible from capital Reykjavik where your hotel will be based, not to mention the surrounding landscape is packed with plenty of vantage points (the tour will be a handy way of ensuring you don't miss out on the best ones).

Of course if you do want to squeeze in some extra exploring of your own, Iceland has heaps of great spots for seeing the Aurora. Meanwhile come daytime the country is filled with beautiful destinations from black sand beaches to crystal caves and epic national parks - we've rounded up the best ones here.

Meanwhile for a spot of pampering, there's an incredible new Sky Lagoon spa on a geothermal lagoon.

We're talking a 264ft-long natural infinity pool that looks out to the North Atlantic Ocean, a huge sauna with Iceland's largest window sure to offer up epic views, and plenty of dreamy experiences such as oceanfront dining. Definitely one for the bucket list.
