This is the incredible moment the northern lights danced across the sky above Falkirk last night.
It's not very often we see such a spectacular display so far south, but the light explosion was so strong, it was spotted across many parts of Scotland.
They show an amazing mix of colours from the harbour hovering over the Firth of Forth in Bo'ness and The Three Kings in Shieldhill.

The Aurora Borealis is caused by the interaction of the solar wind - which is a stream of charged particles escaping the Sun - and Earth's magnetic field and atmosphere.
It's most commonly seen over northern Scotland, but when a strong explosion occurs, the display can be seen further south.
